Potlatch Bowls

Potlatch is a ceremonial gift-giving feast, practiced for thousands of years by the indigenous population of the Pacific Northwest coast.  A potlatch ceremony typically celebrates a significant event such as a wedding or the honoring of the dead.  Potlatch bowls were commonly carved in the shapes of the animals that featured prominently in Native legends.
